Jodine joined the Digital Arts team in 2013 after working for specialist User Experience consultancy Optimal Experience.
With 17 years of experience in digital, Jodine has worked across some of Australia’s and New Zealand’s leading companies, including Seek Learning (Seek Ltd’s Education and Training aggregator), Vodafone NZ, Spark (Telecom), Air New Zealand (inflight e-commerce UID), AA Insurance, Tourism New Zealand, Sky TV and Mighty River Power.
Jodine enjoys collaborating on design challenges and seeing real results once a solution is deployed. After 4 years of running her own independent web design and development business Liquorice Media in Melbourne, she arrived at SEEK.com as their internal UX lead for their new education and learning business SEEK Learning. While at SEEK Learning Jodine lead a staged transformation of the website over 2.5 years, that was informed at every step by user research. The result was a considerably more sophisticated website that had thought about every touch point for satisfying user needs and expectations whilst also motivating conversion which raised leads significantly.
Most recently, heading up the Auckland Museum Account, Jodine has led the implementation of a transformative Digital Channel Strategy aimed at creating a ‘Digital Museum’. This will be gradually achieved over a long term programme of work that includes enabling access to the Museum’s digital collections across multiple platforms, anytime, anywhere, by anyone. Jodine is passionate about finding the balance between user needs, business goals and technical innovation that can create world class designs that work.
Through her work with Tourism New Zealand, Jodine is also experienced in managing global scale user testing and multi-market & language design systems. The implementation of the international research and design recommendations greatly contributed to a boost in referrals to the NZ travel industry.
Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.Steve Jobs
In between leaving Melbourne and returning to NZ Jodine took the opportunity to travel in Latin America for a year, continuing her learnings about community development in a 3 month role in Belize for the Cornerstone Foundation. She also took away a love of Latin music adding to her interests in DJ'ing global bass / world music, and radio presenting for BASE FM. Living on the idyllic Waiheke Island provides the perfect work / life balance of living in a small community with access to the delights of big city.
